And when he wakes up, too...

Also cute, when he first wakes up:

We take lots of sleeping baby pictures

Maybe because he's just so darn cute when he sleeps? It's pretty ridiculous how many sleeping baby pictures we (I) have.

Seahurst Park

Found out today that we live just 2 miles from a beautiful little beach! So now we have an awesome, free activity for us to do during the day. I had been trying to come up with places to take X during the day that would be fun for both of us, but close enough to home that his nap schedule wouldn't be interfered with. The beach is perfect for that. For now, X just tries to eat the rocks & sand, but I can see him chasing waves & seagulls, collecting rocks. & having little week day picnics next summer & as long as we live in our house.

But mostly, the fact that we own a home so close to the beach... And I can spend sunny afternoons here all summer... That makes me so very happy.

Destined for greatness

The similarities are uncanny:

Clearly, X is destined to become a Grammy award winning frontman of a band that will define its  era. One who will set trends in music and hair styles alike. A band that will go on to have a long and successful career... Oh. Wait. Maybe not.

One of the best parts of having a house...

Watching X and Juniper play in the backyard together.

We bought a house

It's small at only 760 square feet. But it has a great backyard and a 2nd bedroom. It's on a cute street it's close to everything we need it to be. Best part is it's ours to do what we please to it.

Remarkable

This picture is notable for several reasons:

1. X is surrounded by toys, and what is he playing with? Juniper's collar and his daddy's shoe.

2. He has his leg out of his pajamas. He somehow unsnapped the leg of them and got his leg out overnight. Neat trick, son.

3. This is a boy who slept overnight (12 hours) for the 1st time. He went to bed at 7pm as usual. He squawked around 10:30, but when I checked on him he wasn't totally asleep because he was sucking on his pacifier but he was drowsy enough that he didn't open his eyes to look at me. Next thing I knew it was 4:45am and I was worried since I hadn't heard him since that 10:30 squawk. I managed to squelch my "oh my gosh! The fan has fallen on him and he is horribly injured!" fears (never mind that the fan would have to magically move 3 feet if it were to be capable of falling into the crib.) I didn't want to wake him up if he was asleep so I waited until 6:30am. By then Kenneth was awake too and when we checked on our boy, he was laying awake in his crib, sucking on his pacifier and giving us good morning grins. Please God, don't let this be a fluke.
